Green Tea from Yunnan? Yes, Yunnan surprisingly produces more than just premium quality black and puerh tea. Our Yunnan Green invites you to savour wide range of flavours and aromas exclusive to the magical land of Yunnan. This green tea presents you with rare, delicate sweet scent, penetrating peach-like flavour and a light, citrus aftertaste. This is a unique opportunity for true tea lovers - green tea different than any other. It will change the way you think about green tea. Known primarily for its black and puerh teas, Yunnan province surprisingly produces some fascinating green teas - such as this beautifully made silver tip variety. Yunnan's unique climate combines the mild temperature and clean, dry air of high altitudes with the potent sunshine of tropical latitudes far to the south of regions where green tea is grown in the east. As a result of the unique climate, Yunnan tea has larger, plumper leaves that develop extravagant flavour. Also, the aroma, texture, and health qualities are different from more conventional green teas from the central and eastern China.
Appearance:Deep-green leaves and white, furry buds create delicate, pale-green liquor. Leaves unfold beautifully with subsequent infusions.
Taste & aroma:Distinctively fruity, penetrating flavour with hints of apricot. It offers a lingering citrus aftertaste and delicate, sweet scent.
Origin:Yunnan alpine area, South-West China. Yunnan, literally means "south of the clouds". Its vast region stretches from the Tibetan Himalayas to Vietnam.
Harvest Period: Spring 2009
Reviews:Here is what tea reviewer from www.steepster.com thinks of Yunnan Green Tea: ""...The dry leaves are amazingly delicate looking, fine silvery-green twists. They smell like the Yunnan Golden Tips that I've also had from SanTion - caramelly and rich with a hint of strawberries - but the infusion tastes more like a Pi Lo Chun, though not quite as apricotty. The wet leaves have a scent that is kind of green-vegetal in the first infusion, more fruity/sweet from the second. The flavour follows suit - green-vegetal and quite rich, then a bit more fruity. Nice sweet aftertaste that lingers a little. This is a really tasty tea, I recommend it!..."
